The Landis Meat Company was founded in 1954 as a processor of sirloin tip sandwich steaks and beef burgers.  Originally located in Quakertown, PA, the Landis line grew to include chicken and sandwich steaks, flaked and formed beef steaks, and meatballs for both the retail and foodservice trade.  The Landis product line further expanded to include items for the school segment of the industry, with offerings including CN meatballs, sandwich steaks, taco mix, and seasoned ground beef.

In August, 2005, Landis Brand products were folded into the Maid-Rite Steak Co., Inc. family of portioned control raw frozen and precooked meat products, with manufacturing operations relocated to Maid-Rite's northeastern Pennsylvania facilities.
